FAQs
GP Services
Some health insurance policies in the UK only cover hospital care. If you require GP services, many insurers may partner with an external company to offer telemedicine services. To find out if your coverage includes this, please contact your insurance provider for confirmation.
Our doctors are trained and qualified to provide care for children from the moment they are born. We offer general health check-ups and can treat common childhood illnesses.
For children aged 5 or under, it is usually necessary to have an in-person appointment for a thorough examination and accurate diagnosis. If we are unable to schedule an appointment within a suitable timeframe or if you're unable to come in for an appointment, you may need to seek help from your local GP or urgent care centre.
Please note that we do not prescribe certain medications, such as antibiotics, for children aged 5 or under for telemedicine services like telephone or video consultations. However, if it is clinically necessary and meets both licensing and medical insurance criteria, we can prescribe appropriate medication after an in-person appointment for children in this age group.
Yes. We highly recommend that all eligible patients maintain their registration with the NHS. You can continue to have your NHS GP and also have a private GP if you wish. Rest assured, we are more than willing to share any details of your care with your consent, ensuring a seamless and coordinated approach to your healthcare.
Yes. Once you have had an in-person consultation with our doctors, we can provide you with a sick note if it is suitable for your illness. However, please note that we can only issue sick notes for a maximum of 2 weeks per illness within a 12-month period. If you require a longer sick note, we recommend reaching out to your NHS GP for further assistance.
Yes. If it is deemed necessary for your care after an in-person appointment, we can issue a referral letter for private specialist services. Please note that this service is available for private services only.
You may be charged additional fees for prescriptions or letters (referrals, sick note etc). Please see our price list for further details.
As part of our service, there are certain limitations on the prescriptions we can provide. We are unable to issue prescriptions for controlled drugs, make changes to chronic medications (like starting or adjusting doses), and certain acute medications. Please find below some examples of medications we are unable to prescribe (this list is not exhaustive):

Health Assessments
A health assessment involves various tests and exams to give you a snapshot of your current health. It helps identify any issues and can enhance your overall wellbeing. Our team of trained doctors and advisors at the Lifestyle Medical Clinic usually conduct these assessments.
No. Our health assessments are non-invasive and typically involve only a few small blood samples and basic body measurements. All our packages include a body composition scan, you might need to remove your shoes and socks. More information on how to prepare your scan can be found here.
The NHS does not provide health assessments like ours but will provide these tests if you have symptoms. The NHS does have some screening programs for certain illnesses based on your age. But, the they generally do not offer the wide range of thorough tests we do, along with a detailed, personalised results report.
If our lab that analyses your samples finds any critical results, we will contact you right away. You will not have to wait for your complete results report to take the right steps. Depending on the result you may need to ensure an urgent repeat test quickly. This can be done in A&E, NHS GP or privately with our doctors depending on availability.
We suggest having a complete health check once a year to monitor and enhance your health proactively. This helps you stay informed about your health and track any significant changes from your previous results.
Our friendly Health Assessment Specialists are skilled in taking blood and will perform some key measurements and collect a few small blood samples during your appointment. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds in health and wellbeing. Our doctors and Lifestyle Medicine Practitioners are highly qualified with board certification in Lifestyle Medicine.
Your appointment duration will vary depending on the tests or package you've selected, typically ranging from 10 to 30 minutes.
Please give us a call at 07474794887 as soon as you can. We can free up your appointment for someone else and help you reschedule it for a different date and time at no extra charge. If you need to cancel within 24 hours you may incur and administration fee.

Certain health insurance policies may provide a wellbeing allowance that can be used for our services. To determine if your coverage includes this benefit, we recommend reaching out to your insurance provider for confirmation. They will be able to provide you with the necessary information regarding the availability and usage of your wellbeing allowance.
To make the most of your doctor appointment, we will send you a link to a detailed Lifestyle Medicine questionnaire in advance. It's important to complete this questionnaire before your appointment. We suggest doing so about one week prior and making sure to book your appointment with enough time in between. This way, your doctor will have ample time to review your answers and provide you with the best possible consultation.
Please remember to fill out all the required fields in the questionnaire. If a field doesn't apply to you, simply enter "N/A." Incomplete fields will prevent the form from being submitted. You will receive a confirmation message once the form is successfully submitted.
No, we do not prescribe medication. Lifestyle Medicine centres around important aspects like physical activity, nutrition, sleep, mental wellbeing, avoiding harmful substances, and developing positive social connections. Instead of medications, we provide "Lifestyle Medicine Prescriptions" which are SMART goals tailored to your needs. These goals are designed to support you in making lifestyle changes that can help prevent, treat, or even reverse chronic illnesses.
Yes. We highly recommend that all our clients schedule at least one follow-up appointment. This helps ensure accountability and improves your chances of successfully making and maintaining the necessary health changes. We understand that making these changes can be challenging, and having ongoing support is crucial. Based on our experience, a single appointment may not provide the level of care and long-term assistance you need. That's why we offer follow-up appointments in all our services, including our basic consultation service. If you feel the need for additional support, you are more than welcome to book more follow-up appointments.
Yes. We do offer additional options that come with extra charges. One such option is blood tests, which can incur a significant cost. Rest assured, we are transparent about the pricing for each service, and there are no hidden costs. It's important to note that there may be additional fees for cancellations or if you arrive late for your appointment. You can find specific details regarding costs, terms, and conditions in our dedicated Terms & Conditions section, which you can access here.
Ideally, it would be beneficial to have a smartphone, even for our basic consultation service. Having a smartphone enables you to keep track of the lifestyle goals that you and your doctor have agreed upon. Tracking your progress is a key factor in achieving success and allows you and your doctor to identify areas where you're doing well and areas that may need some improvement. We may utilise an app to monitor certain lifestyle metrics like step count or calories. However, if you prefer, you can measure these metrics in your own way and share the information with your doctor during your follow-up appointment.
We understand that circumstances can change, and you may need to change or cancel your appointment. We kindly request that you inform us as soon as possible in such cases. If you cancel your appointment with more than 48 hours' notice, we will provide a refund. However, canceling with less notice may result in a charge. For more detailed information, please refer to our Terms and Conditions, which you can access here.
